hello,
i am new at this forum, so maybe not quit a very bright question,
i put in the frd and zma woofer data, but i don't see them back in the graphs of
winpcd. what's going wrong, winpcd says he converted it all and gets green.
the file looks like (frd, only the very first lines) this:
freq. amplitude phase
10.0000 27.9715 -34.7079
10.0925 28.2916 -34.7603
10.1859 28.6120 -34.8156
10.2802 28.9325 -34.8739
10.3753 29.2532 -34.9353
frd file wrong?
Re: frd file wrong?
That data looks good. The SPL is low there, not uncommon for measurements that go well into the stop-band. The SPL graphs have a slider that let you view data down to 0db, so it should show somewhere. If you do not see it, send me a copy of the files and I'll look into it further.
Does the file read message box show that it skipped a comment line as that first line should be if it's in the file?
In any case, please let me know how it goes.
Dave

Re: frd file wrong?
hello Dave,
there was no skip of any kind, winpcd converted it all, everything was accepted.
Also the tweeter-file was accepted but nothing was graphed.
i wanted to upload the file complete, but frd, doc and txt files are not accepted in Meniscus.
how to get the file to you?
jan

Re: frd file wrong?
I've sent you a personal message through Meniscus with contact information.

Re: frd file wrong?
I've got the files. Both have two extra blank lines, but this shouldn't be an issue. I see the tweeter file display. The woofer file is a bit different. It appears to be a close-mic measurement type of file and stops at 1000Hz. The graphing software is a bit quirky in that it will auto-adjust for the range with a trigger, but that doesn't happen on the initial load. The default range is 1k-10k, so your file, though loaded, has the graph off to the left side. The frequency slider will allow you to bring it into view.janamo63 wrote:hello Dave,

The ranges should be adjusted when you load the other file, in this case the impedance. No calculations are made, though, until you select a crossover type (2-way or 3-way only for now) and as long as all files are loaded (frd and zma). The scales will otherwise auto-adjust when you select the appropriate type.
The woofer file as it is won't be useful for design if this is for a 2-way. The tweeter file also needs phase data. It has zero phase for all points. You need a complete woofer file and ensure that both files have proper phase, either measured or generated.

Re: frd file wrong?
Hello Dave,
Thanks for your answer. Ik know now what i have to do. prepare proper files with enough Fr and Z informatiom for my 2-way speakers, with phase information for both the frd and zma extension files. Jan
