Hi,
I've never designed a crossover (or anything electronic) before so please excuse me if I'm way off base here! I'm putting new drivers into an existing cabinet and my objectives for this project are to properly match the box and vent size to the woofer, accurately router the baffle board and successfully design a crossover I can be proud of.
I've noticed that Troels Gravesen will often use an LC contour network that seems to double as the inductance of a 2nd order Low pass filter. Is there any way to infinity the resistor in a LCR to make it a LC? It looks like 10K is the highest value I can give the resistor. Is that enough?
No Parallel LC Network?
Re: No Parallel LC Network?
10K is sufficient. I set the options to match what is in the PCD spreadsheet. I'll look into adding another option that leaves out the resistor, but for now setting the parallel resistor to 10K essentially has the same effect.
